Since it opened in 1996, The Cottage has become
the destination for home owners wanting what no
other furniture store or interior designer could offer
them: the ultimate “one-stop” shopping experience
for all of their interior design needs.
By combining an experienced design team with
over 4,000 sq. ft. of retail space and extensive
custom capabilities, we offer the resources of the
largest furniture store and the personal touch
of a small boutique. This combination allows
us to provide our customers with a refreshingly
unique design that is comprehensive, custom and
coordinated in all aspects.
No matter what the size or location of your
design project, we can satisfy your home furnishing
needs. Our projects have varied from one room to an
entire home, both existing or in construction.
Most furniture stores can help you with floor
plans and furniture selections, but they typically
offer only limited custom capability; for the rest
of the makeover, you’re on your own. An interior
designer can help you create a custom look, but
that often requires the customer to accompany the
designers on numerous visits to different stores.
The Cottage is your resource for the entire
home—for furniture, window treatments, rugs,
accents, everything!

A customer writes:
“For anyone who recalls such childhood thrills
as losing a lazy afternoon in the back of an older
relative’s closet or drawers, emerging from shoe
boxes and stale fabric aglow with storylines
inevitably connected to every loose thread and scrap
of paper that escaped disposal, or over-stuffing
pockets and bags with stones or shells on a beach,
perfectly shaped pebbles or pinecones on a hike,
and the like, only to let an equal amount of time
pass arranging and sorting the findings, will not
be able to resist this shop. Ephemera and jewelry
are individually packaged and placed into boxes
or organizers alongside silverware tied with string
and classic novels, housewares, clothing, furniture,
and artwork, postcards, buttons, clasps, zippers,
appliances, lace, sculpture, hats, photographs,
cookbooks, all stacked with purpose and intent,
colors juxtaposed just-so, shapes echoing and
offsetting each other to make absorbing the entire
store nearly impossible. Each individual shelf,
corner, fraction of a wall must be taken on its own,
almost as artwork itself ... Thoreauly Antiques is
so composed, so humble, so endearing, it makes
anything that may qualify as junk instantly precious.
Antiquing has never been so easy on the eyes.”

Quilter’s Way began in 2002 when Jane Barnett
dreamed of leaving a high-tech career for a different
kind of creativity and community. Her lifelong love
of crafting and needlework led her to join the world
of quilting when she stumbled on an available
storefront in West Concord. In June 2002, Quilter’s
Way began a 10-year happy stay in the family-
oriented village, filled with other small businesses
and talented artisans.
Quilter’s Way is widely know for our friendly,
knowledgeable staff, our eye-catching selection
of the latest in contemporary fabrics and the
inspiration we provide to novice and experienced
sewing enthusiasts alike. We showcase over 3,000
bolts of fabric and one of the largest collections of
fresh, modern fabric styles and hand-dyed batiks in
the area. Our selection of quilting solids and black
and whites is unbeatable.
Today, Quilter’s Way has started a new chapter
by moving to the Acton Woods Plaza, just a couple
miles away at the corner of Rte. 2A and Rte. 27.
With the addition of a larger studio space and a new
Gammill long-arm quilting machine, Quilter’s Way
will offer even more educational opportunities than
before.
Come visit us in our new location, we know you’ll
be glad you came!
