family business caring for senior citizens in their
homes. More than 20 years later, all three of
his children own agencies serving hundreds of
clients in four states—all with the same goal: to
improve the quality of life of elders who want to

Douglas W. Stinson has been a resident of Lincoln,
MA for 14 years. The auction house of Carl W. Stinson
Auctioneers & Appraisers was founded by Carl W. Stinson
in 1960, and Doug is the second generation at the helm
of the business. At the age of 13 he “called” his first
auction at Hamilton Hall on historic Chestnut Street
in Salem, MA. Thirty five years later a well seasoned
and experienced Mr. Stinson visits homes and estates
throughout the Northeast on a daily basis to appraise,
buy and review antiques and fine art in virtually every
category imaginable. Mr. Stinson along with his staff
conduct auctions of fine art and antiques throughout
the year and work with individuals privately and
confidentially. As a public spirited citizen, Mr. Stinson
has provided his auction and appraisal skills to support
many local charities including: Concord Art Association,
Concord Museum, Concord Carlisle Community Chest,
Codman Community Farms, the Concord Education
Foundation, as well as Carlisle and Lexington Education
Foundations, The Middlesex School, The Fay School, The
Fenn School, Nashoba Brooks School, The Sudanese
Education Fund, Kerem Shalom, St. Anne’s in the Fields
Episcopal Church, Friends of the Lincoln Public Library,
The Healing Garden and The Atlantic Salmon Federation
to name but a few. Mr. Stinson is a graduate of Kents
Hill School in Maine, where he is a Trustee. He is also a
graduate of St. Lawrence University.
